I was thrilled to be chosen as Executive Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc in August of 2013. Writing this bio feels a lot like creating a sad E-Harmony profile, but here goes......
Professionally, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta and a Master's Degree from Athabasca University in Work, Organzation and Leadership. Prior to joining the Club, I worked for several Family and Community Support Services, as well as in Family Violence Prevention and Intervention. I love running a not-for-profit and even enjoy all the paperwork that accompanies the position!
Personally, I am married with two strong, smart daughters and one whiny, less-than-smart (but thoroughly loved) dog. We have lived in Leduc for many years, but I actually grew up on a farm outside of the Village of Thorsby. I love running (yes, for fun) and spending time with my rather large, extended family. I think Alberta is the most beautiful place on earth and love being outside in it.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Club. You can reach me at executivedirector@bgcleduc.ca

BGC Leduc was the second job I've ever had, and I have been with the club ever since. I worked through the afterschool program in high school, moved on to summer programming staff and then finally worked my way to where I am today! It has been almost 9 years! The Club holds a very special place in my heart, and I would not want to be anywhere else! Serving the kids in our community has been a passion of mine and I am so thrilled that I get to wake up and do just that each day!
Personally, I have a husband, a handsome and goofy son and an anxious but adorable pooch! We live in a beautiful neighborhood in Leduc and love walking through all the pathways around our home. We spend tons of time outside, at the lake, in the pool and honestly as much time together as a family as we can. We are very close to our extended family that we are fortunate enough to have so close to us, most of them live in our neighborhood. I have always loved growing up in Leduc and I am very thankful I will be able to raise my own children here!
I have been with the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc for the past 7 years and it is my dream job. I love working with children/youth and have done so in many different settings. I love to see our children and youth grow throughout our programs and love seeing new faces join them. This is a passion of mine and it brings so much joy to my life. I love all of the kids and families here at BGC and I absolutely love my job!
Outside of BGC, My boyfriend and I own a home here in Leduc with our adorable pup, Otis. I love the Leduc community and being able to work in it! I grew up living in Leduc and did competitive dance here for 15 years which I enjoyed very much. I now teach dance at a studio here in Leduc for kids ages 2-13!
As the mom of a very busy blended family of 6 kids ranging in age from 3 years to 14, I can wholly understand the needs and demands placed on not only the parents of the family but also the kids. I am so grateful to be part of an organization that puts the kids needs first. I come from a big family with a farming/agricultural background, but due to an injury sustained at work I was pressed into a career change. I couldn't be happier in my new position and I love getting to know the kids and families that make up our club and make it such a happy place to be!
