Community Update: We’re Building the Future—Together
We’re excited to share that BGC Leduc is actively building momentum toward a dedicated Youth Centre for our community! As the largest child and youth service provider in the Leduc region, we know how urgently young people need a safe, inclusive, purpose-built space to learn, grow, and just be.
Right now, we’re deep in the design and fundraising phase of a bold new project: a brand new Youth Centre created with youth, for youth. This will be the first permanent space of its kind in our city—an accessible hub where teens can find connection, confidence, and opportunity.
Why a Youth Centre? Society is more complex than ever, and young people are facing unprecedented challenges. Rising mental health concerns, learning loss, youth unemployment, social disengagement, crime, gang involvement, and struggles with addiction are affecting teens across our province. Social infrastructure—like a youth centre—plays a critical role in prevention, helping stop these issues from taking root. At the same time, it provides youth-worker-supported intervention, connecting teens who may already be struggling to the guidance, resources, and opportunities they need to build resilience, make positive choices, and thrive. By investing in a space designed specifically for young people, we are hoping to be part of the solution to so many of these issues.
